How the heck have you been?!?!?!?

Wow! Talk about a hiatus!
What? It's only been about 2 years since I last posted...

Well, lets catch up. How you been? Oh, me? I've been great! Had a baby, got a dog and made lots of memories in the past couple years. I just got back into sewing and painting and re-opened my Etsy Shop too! I'm going to try really hard to back into the swing of things here on the blog.
I've missed it, and you!

To give you a little look into what I've been up to...here are some pictures :)

We adopted this little guy and named him Astro :)

I just started crafting again....It feels so good to be creative again!

Life...in a nut shell

Busy is an understatement when it come to what has been going on at the SewFullOfLove household. From Birthdays to Plays to Choir Concerts to Sewing...oh yeah...and working...

Calgon...take me away....

Do you remember those commercials??? Or am I Totally dating myself right now??? :) haha!

The Craft Fair that I am going to is just a few weeks away, and I have been sewing my little fingers off. (I probably should be sewing right now...but I really wanted to say HI!) I am excited, and a little nervous, because this is the first time I will be selling my creations face to face with people!

Mid March was Miss Ali's 13th Birthday too!!! We had a party at the house for her and her friends, and they all had a blast!

 We set up a sweets table and I made her cake....isn't it cute!

 Here's a little look at what else we've been up too...

Ali is in "Annie" right now with a local Musical Theater. It's so cute! and It was my Dad's 65th B-Day :) Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

And in between all that, I've been Sewing...cooking yummy meals...playing with my Ipad...and becoming addicted to Instagram!!! (You can find me at SewFullOfLove if you wanna follow me)  ;)

So I keep saying....Things WILL settle down....eventually :)

But, I'd rather be busy, then bored.

My weekend...

It all started Friday night when my hubby had to go to the optometrist to get a piece of metal out of his eye!!!! Yes, a small piece of metal was stuck IN his eye! Crazy to say the least. He has to go back tomorrow to make sure his eye is healing properly. He's doing great now. Just thankful that it wasn't any worse.
The rest of our weekend was pretty relaxing. We had a nice rain storm on Saturday and it was Super windy all day today.
And....I got a present!! My wonderful Mr. bought me an iPad!!! :) thing is....I can't get Miss K off it! Haha! All she wants to do is draw and play games.
So we spent our day playing with our new toy and I was sewing my tush off. I am going to be in my first craft fair at the end of April! I'm so excited!! I'll keep you posted on how it's going :)
So I'm posting this from my iPad. Don't know how it's going to turn out...but here I go....... :)

My Beautiful Momma

How Gorgeous is she!!!

I have one of those photo screen savers on my computer. So when I stepped away from my computer today, my screen saver kicked in and started flipping through all my mom's old pictures.

My Dear Mr. scanned them all so we could have copies.

As I stared looking at all the great pic's, I thought...I LOVE looking through all her old photos.

I love everything...the clothes, the hair, everything!

She won "Miss Teenage Philippines" in Los Angeles in 1965!! She was 17 years old.

(yes she IS Filipino, I promise! Just half, other half is Irish)

See! That's my momma with my grandpa! :)

I guess I'm just feeling a little sappy and nostalgic on this Monday.

Pizza, Pizza

So the other week I went on kind of a Pizza kick. I made 4 different pizza's in one night!!

What can I say....I like having choices!

I saw this recipe over at The Pioneer Woman Blog for a Grilled Vegetable Pizza.

So I thought I'd try it.

Looks pretty darn good, right?......well it was! :)

I changed it a bit, just so Miss K could eat it if she wanted,

but I did make her her own mini pizza too :)

Hold the Cheese Please....with light sauce too.

And a traditional Cheese and Pepperoni

So after all this pizza eating, I thought, "What the heck!!! Lets make a Dessert Pizza!!"

Yup

A Dessert Pizza!!!

YUM!

You'll Need:

Pizza Dough (I bought mine at Trader Joe's)

Melted Butter

Cinnamon Sugar, or "Grinder of Goodness" (see below)

Peanut Butter

(I used Sunflower Seed Butter since Miss K is allergic to Peanuts)

Sliced Apples

Chocolate Sauce

Mini Chocolate Chips

I started by pre-baking the pizza dough with a little melted "Miss K friendly butter" brushed on it and grinded this "Grinder of Goodness" on it. (No, that is not it's official name...but it should be!)

After the dough was done baking I smeared Sunflower Seed butter on it like it was the Pizza Sauce.

Arrange the sliced apples all around, and drizzle with chocolate sauce. I used:

Again...YUM!

and lastly I sprinkled the mini chocolate chips (mine were dairy free) all around.

You can add nuts, dried fruit....whatever you fancy ;)

And if your feeling really crazy.....maybe grind a little more of that goodness on top!

Slice and Enjoy!!

I can safely say that everyone loved it.

We had chocolate sauce on our faces to prove it ;)

Sunnies

Sunnies, or Sunrise Shells are my Favorite!! They're a treasured shell in Hawaii, and this beauty was given to me by my Auntie Mad. She got this shell and had it turned into this gorgeous necklace for me. It was made my a local artist on Kauai, Amber Lynn. I LOVE IT!!! She is super talented!

 I love it, love it!!! It's like having a piece of home with me when I wear it. I miss Kauai everyday, but am so grateful for everything that I have here in California. Hopefully I will be able to visit soon, but until then I will wear my Sunny with pride :)

My Little Ham's

So, last weekend we had some fun in the backyard taking pictures and little Miss K decided that she needed some face time in front of the camera. These are either her official model poses, or she's "Voguing".  ;) Either way, she is absolutely adorable. Don't you think??

Oh...and we got her hair cut recently. Cute, right?! Now she says that her and I are twins :) haha! What do you think.....?

And Miss Ali....She's gonna be 13 next month!!!!!!!!! Holy Smokes!!!

She's growing up so fast! I just can't believe it sometimes!! She's becoming such a great young lady :)e

I love both my little girls so much. I'm a very lucky momma :)

So now off to a fun filled weekend. An Estate Sale with my sis in the morning, then lots of family time after that. Then its Super Bowl Sunday!!! And No, I don't just watch the Super Bowl for the commercials!! (not that there is anything wrong with that) ;) I'm actually a huge Football fan :)

Monday, Monday

Happy Monday Y'all!!

I guess I'm not doing so good with my New Years Resolutions :( Life has been so busy, I haven't had any time to post.

Hopefully life will settle down a little so I can get back to sewing and blogging.

Little Miss K is sick again :( She's back on her inhaler, and on some steroids to open up her lungs. Her cough is so icky!

I've mentioned before that she has allergies...Peanuts, Dairy are the main ones, but she also reacts to grass, dust and some other outdoor allergens. Poor Baby. So when she gets sick...She gets SICK!

Do you know any kids with bad allergies or do you have a child with allergies?

It's tough, isn't it?

Especially the food allergies. Dairy is in just about everything it seems, even things you wouldn't think. And peanuts, ugh! Peanuts are her BIG allergy. We have an Epi-pen and everything for that one. She has never eaten a peanut, and I don't want to know what will happen if she does.

So, needless to say...the little munchkin has had a rough few days. And in turn, the whole house has had a rough few days.

But here are a few pics from a much happier day! Earlier this month the whole fam went out and had a great afternoon. We rode on a Farris Wheel and everything! :)

Is this thing on?

Well...I don't need to tell you that it's been super quiet around here, do I?

Let's just say that life has been pretty crazy lately. My Birthday, Christmas, and New Years. You get the idea.

But I'm back, and back with a plan. This year is gonna be different, better, more fulfilling. And that means that there is going to be a lot more dedication to this blog, and to my Esty shop.

Last year was good, don't get me wrong. I started sewing and selling on Esty. I started this blog. And I even got my Lil' Monsters into a boutique for the holidays.

Not. To. Shabby.

I have a whole list of Resolutions for this year. Some are totally doable, some are going to take a little more work to achieve. And I will get as many done as I can :)

I just wanted to stop by and say HI! And let you know that I'm still here, I just got a little lost in the shuffle. It wont be long till you hear from me again :)

Thanksgiving Crafts

Well, I'm a little late on posting this, but hey....Better Late than Never, right?

Me and the kiddos had a craft day at my sisters...Thanksgiving style. It was so fun, and the kids had a blast too :)

The kiddos made turkey's, and wrote on the tail feathers what they were thankful for.... and Miss Ali decided to be a little funny with hers....

She's a funny one I tell ya :)

I remember making these when I was a kid. :)

And my sister Ari and I had a little craft time of our own :) We made these fall garlands that we saw on A Beautiful Mess posted Here.

Now it's my turn....We are going to have Christmas Craft Day at my house :) I've been collecting ideas for both the kiddos and my sister and I.

Any suggestions?

Stepping out of my comfort zone...

We all have them.
That nice cozy spot that's comfortable and familiar, and not scary at all.
You think about stepping out, but it's different, and you don't know what others are gonna think or say.
That's how I am with what I wear. Basically...I play it safe. Nothing too bright, or "out of the box".
Until the other day.
I stepped out.
At least for ME, this was stepping out ;)

Yup....I wore YELLOW tights!!!

ME...Yellow tights??!! with a cute Retro-Style black and white dress.

I was SOOOO self conscious the whole day.

I could feel the people looking at me. At work, I went to an office meeting and EVERYONE made a big deal about my tights! (in a nice way...but still, WAY too much attention)

I started turning red....I wanted to just leave and take them off.

But I stuck with it, and wore them to whole day.

I walked around with my head up, and just owned it!

It felt good to step out of my comfort zone.

Maybe I'll do it again soon ;)

Sunday Fun

Forgive the booty shot....but Miss K was having so much fun in the fort this Sunday!! :) We built it early, and it stayed up until we went to bed. The girls ate snacks, read books, and watched some TV.

Ali made a sign....She was having just as much fun in our little hide-a-way as Miss K was :)

I think this may become a ritual now :)

The Monsters are coming!!!!

So this is what I've been up to lately....sewing Lil' Monsters!! :) Aren't they just the cutest??!!

These cuties are going to a super cool, hip boutique in Albuquerque, NM called Stilo Lifestyle Accessories.

Thrifty finds....that ends badly

Hi-Di-Ho everyone!!
I'm back!!
It's been a CRAZY couple weeks....but finally things are starting to settle down a little.
I hadn't been thrifting in a while, so I was REALLY excited when I saw these awesome finds!!

Federal Glass green dots bowl - $2.99
Vintage kitchen towel, and vintage fabric - .98 each
Buffalo China platter with blue edge - $1.99
Pyrex Verde Cinderella Bowl Set - about $20.00 total

I nearly squealed when I saw the whole set of Pyrex.....I own A LOT of Pyrex. But strangely enough, I don't have a complete set of anything. So this was the first :)
Then.....as I was taking these pictures, trying to get the right angle, I must have bumped the table.....

I heard them slide

I saw them start to fall

I heard them crash

Then.....

I may had yelled...NOOOOO!!!!!!!
There may have been tears.......
The two smaller bowls, Down, broken, smashed......

So, I'm back to not having any complete sets :(

I'm just kinda a klutz sometimes...

Oh well....don't cry over broken Pyrex. (easier said then done...)

Long Time No Talk!

NO....I haven't fallen off the earth or anything. Just A LOT has been going on.

Don't Laugh!!

Ok...I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I'll be honest, I've been VERY hesitant (maybe even a little scared).
"What?" You're asking.
An outfit post.
My style mostly consists of jeans, tank tops, and slippers. I mean, I dress up if I'm going out and stuff, for the most part, yeah...jeans, top & slippers. That's me ;)
But for work I do dress up. Suits, dresses, stuff like that.
Today was nice, pretty warm actually, and I didn't want to wear a suit, or a work dress that was lined (it gets to hot and sticky). So I opted for a dress that was a little flowy, and best of all comfy!

I said DON'T LAUGH!! :)

This is my first time doing an outfit post....cut me a little slack! Come on...I'm still a rookie ;)

But I do love this dress...and I love the eyelet detail on the cap sleeves and the bottom hem.



Ok...that's it....I did it, my First Outfit Post ever!
